“Special Use Vehicles” are designated by the TSD Director and include emergency and law enforcement vehicles, buses, tractors, boats, trailers, snow cats and other vehicle types not classified as “passenger related” vehicles. On a case-by-case basis passenger-related vehicles that have been or need to be modified in order for an agency to complete its mission may be designated “special use” by the TSD Director.
“Passenger-related Vehicles” are sedans, station wagons, sport utility vehicles, pick-up trucks up to ¾ ton and minivans through 15-passenger vans.
Upon approval of a replacement or disposal of a vehicle, requests for title to vehicles may be made in writing or in person to the Transportation Services Division of the General Services Department located at the 2542 Cerrillos Rd., Santa Fe, NM 87502 or mail to PO Box 6850, Santa Fe, NM 87502-0110. Please allow two to three weeks for processing of titles, government plates and registrations. License plates must be returned when titles are issued.
